Noble Du Noir
Left Leg of Exodia

Card #3, added August 24, 2002:

The Noble Du Noir is a common card from Mythological Age.  It's a pretty straightforward card.  2000 attack is acceptable for a level 5 monster, but the ability is the real reason to play this it.

While the Noble Du Noir is on the field, you get to choose who your opponent attacks.  The power of such a choice is amazing.  First of all, it means that if you have even one monster that is larger than your opponent's monsters, they can't attack.  But it gets better.

You can also use the Noble Du Noir to protect a single monster, such as the previously discussed card, Jougen.  As long as you can keep playing a monster every turn(depending on the number of strong enemy monsters) you can safeguard your other monsters.  You can use this sort of strategy to build up a strong army; imagine what would happen if you were able to safely lay, for example, a Witch's Apprentice(+500 attack to all Darkness monsters) or two?  Noble Du Noir would become as big as a Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and your other monsters would be pumped as well.  You can choose for your opponent to attack facedown cards like Millenium Shield to deal them huge damage, or cards like Ship to the Sunset, which destroys any monster that destroys it during battle.

Of course, considering all of the power granted to you by having the ability to make this choice, no matter what the situation, your opponent probably won't attack you, and that might be the greatest part of all. ^_^
